SECTION I – TITLE AND PURPOSE
The title of this ordinance is the Town of Eastman Fire Inspection Frequency Ordinance. The purpos4e of this ordinanc4 is to allow a reduction in the frequency of fire inspections within the Town.
SECTION II – AUTHORITY
The town board has the authority under general powers and duties s.60.22, Wis. stats, to adopt this ordinance.
SECTION III – ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE
This ordinance, adopted by a majority of the town board on a roll call vote with a quorum present and voting and proper notice having been given, provides for a reduction in the frequency of fire inspection within the Town.
SECTIION IV – DEFINITIONS
In this ordinance:
- “SPS” – Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
- “Town” means the Town of Eastman in Crawford County, Wisconsin.
- “Town board” means the board of supervisors for the Town of Eastman, Crawford County, Wisconsin, and includes designees of the town board authorized to act for the town board.
- “Wis. stats” means the Wisconsin Statutes, including successor provisions of cited statutes.
SECTION V – FREQUENCY OF FIRE INSPECTIONS
- Pursuant to and consistent with SPS 314.01(13)(b)7, all public buildings and places of employment shall be inspected at least once per calendar year, provided the interval between those inspections does not exceed 15 months.
- The fire chief may alter the inspection frequency of any public buildings and places of employment to more than once per calendar year.
SECTION VI – SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or applications of this ordinance that can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provision of this ordinance are severable.
